About

After some years as a secondary school Art teacher, I travelled to Sweden to study weaving at both SaÌŽterglaÌŽntan and Handarbetets VaÌŽnner in Stockholm with Laila Lundell. The thorough training undertaken has enabled a lifelong involvement in both producing, teaching and collecting textiles.

Over the years I have run a studio in the Jam Factory in Adelaide, exhibited in Australia and Japan, curated and participated in travelling exhibitions and undertaken a Community Tapestry project in the mid-North of South Australia and worked with Brecknock Rosenthal Studios on architectural installations – designing, making and installing works including carpets, screen printed sculptural works and tapestries for banks, resorts, retail venues and libraries.

My tapestries are in collections including Goulburn Regional Gallery; New Parliament House, Canberra; Ararat Regional Gallery; Adelaide Children's Hospital.

Latterly, after a period of working in the tertiary sector as Educational Manager in the Creative Industries for TAFE SA I have returned to the weaving studio and am now producing one-off floor rugs, using strong colour combinations in simple uncluttered designs.
